on pointe in my kitchen... yes, this hurts.
I had to buy ribbon and elastic separately. If you're a dancer, you know that everything always needs alterations or adjustments. You've got to sew that stuff on yourself. You have to choose which shoe will be the left one, and which will be the right one, and then you must label them with an "L" or an "R."
So, after some hand stitching with pink thread, and many painful pin pricks on my fingers, my shoes were ready. My feet were not.
Last night I went to my first pointe class. It's just as hard as you think it's going to be. It hurts just as much as I thought it would... maybe more. No blood yet, but the tips of my first and second toes feel permanently bruised. I've been wearing my pointe shoes around the house a bit today. I'm trying to get used to them, my teacher tells me that will happen. I hope so.
I may never have cute feet again, which is unfortunate because I have lots of flip-flops.
