After my Grandma Lucille passed away a few years ago, my Dad asked me what I wanted from her house. I asked for some of her costume jewelry that my sister and I loved to wear, the pink bathroom stool that reminds me of her each and every time I bathe my baby, and something I remember her using often... her sewing machine. According to the owner's manual, she bought the machine in 1972, so lets just say it's not as fancy as today's sewing machines.

Despite the fact that it needs repair and can no longer make anything but a straight stitch, I have gotten a lot of use out of it. I've had Grandma's sewing machine out for the past couple of days, working on some projects. My project today was making little aprons for my walking disaster, Dallan. He refuses to wear a bib, so I thought I'd try something different to keep his clothes clean. I even bought some fabric with monkeys and some with goggies and titties (doggies & kitties), hoping to entice him to wear them. They turned out sort of cute, and I'm pretty excited about them!

Tomorrow I hope to make progress on my next project, a baby blanket for my friend Maddie's new baby girl. Pictures to come....
